Chantelle Pierre
Executive Director

Chantelle, a native of New Orleans, is a graduate of Loyola University New Orleans. While working in college admissions for 5 years, she became passionate about making college accessible for all students regardless of their race and socioeconomic backgrounds. As Dean of Students of Summerbridge, she became inspired by the energy and commitment that the young teachers, the participants and their families exuded in the program. SB was the perfect venue to push college prep initiatives.

After leaving SB to pursue her Masters in Social Work at Tulane University, Chantelle worked on a local contract for a nonprofit consulting firm called The New Teacher Project. It was with TNTP that she gained a unique insight in to the inner workings of the public school system in New Orleans prior to Hurricane Katrina.

Chantelle is thrilled to be back at SB. She is mobilizing a talented administrative staff and volunteer corps to meet the educational needs of New Orleans area students post-Katrina.
